Children do much more than just go to school!
At SOS Kannerduerf Luxembourg Foundation, education goes far beyond the classroom. Throughout the year, our children take part in enriching extracurricular activities that foster creativity, reflection, and personal growth. A great example was the "Semaine de l'enfance", held from May 17 to 25, 2025, as part of the national initiative “Experience non-formal education: less screen time, more movement, discovery and experience.”
The Foundation SOS Lëtzebuerger Kannerduerf offered three thematic workshops led by Ms. Robinet, in collaboration with Ms. Matthies from the SOS Kannerduerf art studio. The workshops focused on key topics such as emotions, values, social relationships, language, creativity, and art.
- Workshop 1: Language and social relationships – Children shared their thoughts on what childhood means to them in interactive discussions.
- Workshop 2: Creativity and art – They created artworks inspired by their reflections on childhood.
- Workshop 3: Emotions and values – A highlight of the week was the visit to the Pixar exhibition in Brussels, where children explored emotions through the magical worlds of Inside Out and Coco.
This special week gave our children the chance to express themselves, discover new perspectives, and experience the joy of learning beyond school – a beautiful way to end the academic year.
