Recreational and workshop activities

The activities offered to children and young people are far more than simple pastimes: they open doors to the outside world and allow them to step beyond the boundaries of the Kannerduerf to explore diverse public learning spaces. With a rich and varied programme – music, sports, arts, cooking workshops or scientific discoveries – every child has the chance to thrive, to reveal their talents, and to explore new interests.

By collaborating with external partners, such as associations or cultural centres, we offer young people the opportunity to join a club or an activity outside their usual environment. This is a valuable chance for them to get to know themselves better, to gain independence, and to build new social connections.

Through these experiences, children develop on every level – cognitive, social, and emotional. They learn to go beyond their limits, to understand community life more deeply, and to embrace diversity. These shared moments are also a way to create or strengthen friendships and to bring balance to days that are often highly structured.

Our goal is to give every child as many opportunities as possible to broaden their skills, interests, and horizons. We especially support those who, because of their life path, may not yet feel confident enough to take part in outside activities. That is why we see ourselves as a bridge between the Kannerduerf and the wider world, offering activities that nurture self-confidence, self-discovery, and the joy of living.

By multiplying partnerships with local associations, such as the Mierscher Kulturhaus, we aim to encourage every young person to find their place in society – through sport, culture, or community involvement. Our event services and our “Jugendbus” go far beyond pure entertainment: they represent participation, commitment, sharing experiences, self-discovery, and building the future.

Children learn best in a non-formal environment, among peers, where they can express themselves freely and feel inspired about their future. Our mission: to pass on knowledge and skills naturally and without judgment, so that tomorrow they can flourish fully within society.
