International Day of Charity

Visuel-website2

September 5 is not only the start of the school year in Luxembourg but also the International Day of Charity, established by the United Nations to encourage voluntary and solidarity actions.
At SOS Children’s Village Luxembourg, we accompany children and young people towards a more stable and fulfilling life through pedagogical approaches involving animals, art, music, hands-on experiences, and recreational activities.

SUPPORTING EMOTIONAL STABILITY AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

For children and young people, recovering from traumatic wounds can be a difficult and long journey. Our commitment is to support them in this process, which is why we have implemented specific pedagogical and/or therapeutic support programs for children and young people in residential care. Through these support measures, we can respond flexibly, quickly, and easily to the needs of children and young people at SOS Kannerduerf Luxembourg, thanks to specially trained staff, while also ensuring continuity of care with agility.
These initiatives, largely funded by private donations, enable children and young people to integrate into daily life despite their difficult past and the challenges they face. The generous support of our donors creates an environment conducive to developing individual assistance projects.

UNITED FOR A DIGNIFIED AND PROMISING FUTURE FOR EVERY CHILD

" Thanks to the faithful commitment of our donors and partners, our organization continues to sow seeds of hope, resilience, and autonomy among children, young people, and their families.
Dear benefactors and partners, as we close this challenging but also successful year 2024, I would like to extend my sincere thanks.
Your generosity, trust, and involvement are the pillars on which our actions rest. Your support has made it possible to strengthen children’s capacities, protect them, and open up new and sustainable perspectives. Thanks to you, we have been able to enhance our support systems, develop innovative projects, and maintain a caring presence where the needs are greatest. Your contributions, whether financial, material, or human, have a direct and tangible impact on the lives of many children and young people. They help restore their confidence, dignity, and hope.
We believe that investing in childhood is investing in a fairer, more solidarity-based, and more humane world. And we know that it is together – with you – that this change becomes possible.

To quote Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Thanks to your support, we help an increasing number of children every day to grow, learn, and build a future they choose.

On behalf of our entire team and especially the children we support: thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your precious commitment alongside us.

With all my gratitude,"
