SOS Children’s Village families - external

Sometimes, for example in family crises or emergency situations, children need temporary care day and night. In our short-term external SOS families, we offer them a protective family environment.

This form of SOS Children's Village family is a temporary offer (6-12 months) and offers the possibility of a short-term placement in a "clearing" mission. Clarity, good solutions and perspectives must be developed for children and their families. The external SOS families live outside the Children's Village in Mersch in their own home and offer the children a high degree of security and individual support.

In collaboration with a pedagogical team, the SOS Children's Village external family works towards a return to the family or the development of an appropriate follow-up placement for the children.
